Baffled

September 23, 2025 by Guest Post

by Thomas Tunny, Hamilton

The assassination of Charlie Kirk has me baffled! This was a horrible event. Mr. Kirk should never have been killed, nor should John Kennedy, Robert Kennedy, Martin Luther King, or the great number of students who have been killed in school shootings over the years! All of these assassinations and the number of others in between (too numerous to mention here) are indicative of the moral collapse of our citizenry! Tyler Robinson, the alleged shooter, was angry with Mr. Kirk, and rightly, so! Mr. Kirk had acquired his reputation, his millions, and his warm relationship with the current administration by insulting and degrading citizens of our community who are gay, lesbian, trans, or any other exception to the American mainstream! Mr. Robinson had simply had enough since his roommate and lover was a male transitioning to female. He could no longer sit by and let Charlie Kirk talk about his partner in such a manner. This was not a left or right wing vendetta. It was one man standing up for his lover! At times like these, we should be looking to our leaders, particularly our President, for words of comfort, compassion, and compromise. Unfortunately, this is not the case at this time in our history. Our President chose to ignite the flames of revenge, pitting the right against the left. Instead of words that would heal our nation’s pain, he chose to exacerbate the guilt and the shame that we are all feeling over this tragic event. Remember President Trump saying, “there are good people on both sides” during the Virginia demonstrations? Other leaders, like Governor Cox of Utah who spoke so eloquently after the assassination, must pick up the mantle and provide a path through this terrible situation. The conflict between the left and the right has been exacerbated over the past 10 years and this writer sees only greater conflict on the horizon if we do not come together for the good of our country. It is up to our Priests, our Ministers, our Preachers, our Rabbis, and our Imams to join hands in prayerful consultation with our Political Leaders to bring a peaceful resolution to this political and civil conflict before it goes any further!

Tracy Nailed it as usual. Your News, Thomas, shows you deceptively edited clips that allow you clapping seals to take it out of context. Charlie was a measured, reserved debater who never argued, even though his detractors approached him pumped up on vitriol. “Rightly so” sounds like you cheer on the quieting of dissenting opinions, which is contrary to what the forefathers called for. You want one sided opinions, try moving to Venezuela, North Korea, Russia etc. They sound like they are right up your alley.

We can post an endless supply of racist, sexist, homophonic and miscellaneous downright nasty comments from the Pied Piper of hate. Should we?

Good luck. I’ll double your comments of racism etc and raise you 100. With comments of hate, violence, racism misogyny blah blah from democrats.

You have never listened to Mr. Kirk. Would appear you have only listened to the “sound bites” given you by CNN and other liberal media. I suggest you get some facts. You cant build any kind of argument with out of context clips.

Tell me more. Please post a few quotes that are directly from Mr. Kirk that you feel best display his character and what he was all about. Thanks in advance.
