Marlene Zeiler passed away of natural causes on July 23, at the Living Centre nursing home in Stevensville, MT. She was 87.
Marlene was the 10th child of George and Mary (Goodman) Zeiler.
She was born in Hamilton, Montana in June of 1938 at the Bitterroot Stock Farm where her father worked for the Marcus Daly family.

Marlene attended Etna school (south of Stevensville) until her family moved into Stevensville in 1949 where she completed her education graduating from Stevensville High School in 1956.
After a few various odd jobs, she started what was to be her banking career at the Western Montana National Bank in Missoula, then a short time at Citizens State Bank in Hamilton before settling in for 37 years with First Interstate Bank of Missoula (formerly First National Bank). She retired in June, 2000 after becoming a Missoulian some 24 years earlier. In addition to working at the bank, Marlene cared for her elderly mother the last 12 years of her mothers life.
Marlene loved reading, music and traveling. She spent time in Hawaii and made an extended trip to several countries in Europe. She also toured several U.S. states and explored Canada from Alberta to Manitoba. Marlene spent her extra time visiting family and helping whenever and wherever she could.

Brothers and their wives – Robert & Charlene Zeiler, Elmer and Frances Zeiler, Adolph Zeiler and Lila Zeiler Baldwin, Phillip and Sylvia Zeiler, Richard and Pat Zeiler.
Nephews – Harley Williamson and Larry Zeiler, Russell Zeiler.
Nieces – Patsy Wallace and Jo Ann Clements Fairbanks.
Surviving her are many nieces and nephews – Phyllis Clevidence, Marvin Williamson, David (Michale) Zeiler, Susan Hatch, Linda (Frank) Lewis, Skip (Kari) Zeiler, Mindy Zeiler, Joe (Sue) McKay, Jerry McKay, Michael (Iris) McKay, Diane Overholtzer, Sheri Overholtzer (Mark Dettmer), Douglas (Deb) Overholtzer Kelly (Wendy) Zeiler, Kathy (Gary Ellis) Zeiler and all of their families.
As per requested, Marlene will be cremated and her ashes scattered on St. Mary’s mountain. No funeral services will be conducted. Condolences and memories may be shared with the family at www.whitesittfuneralhome.com.
