Shen Yun Performing Arts, an American-born company based in New York and founded by asylum seekers from China, knows firsthand the violence and oppression of the Chinese Communist Party. Since its inception, the company and its performers have been targeted through transnational repression for exposing the persecution of practitioners of the spiritual practice, Falun Gong.
Shen Yun is a global phenomenon and has performed worldwide since 2006 to rave reviews, including full-house performances in Billings. Shen Yun’s mission is to revive traditional Chinese culture before the advent of communism through dance and music.
Financial support by the CCP to U.S. institutions, media, social media, and legal campaigns is being used to sway public opinion negatively about the performing group in hopes of silencing their message.
