I’ve been in Alaska for three years, but I still keep up with Stevensville’s activities and accomplishments.
I have heard that the latest town audit was very positive for the first time in years. Good job. And a new bank has participated in the park renovations. And water meters are now functioning. Town hall is running smoothly and efficiently.
Yet, the same old criticisms surface occasionally. Political disagreements get nasty and cause strife. I don’t understand how anyone who has lived through the last decade of Stevensville government cannot be appreciative of your current state of affairs. But I read Sue McCreary’s letter in the Star, and was aghast at her animosity and recitation of petty grievances.
I recommend taking a deep breath and remembering how bad it was not so long ago.
For those who don’t know me, my family helped to settle the valley. I will always love this town.
