As a follow up to the May 7 letter by Charles Treece, I share this response.
I too had measles, mumps and chicken pox as a child in the fifties, but recovered with bedrest and no lasting side effects. Fortunately my tonsils are still intact. The measles virus is not the same as the Varicella Zoster Virus that causes shingles, which is similar to the virus causing chicken pox. During my long career as a holistic chiropractor,I find most shingles cases follow a nerve that has diminished innervation..
If someone is planning to immunize their children,I strongly suggest they wait until the infant is at least two to allow the blood/brain barrier to fully develop to avoid any potential for harm from additional additives such as mercury, which is highly suspected as one of the factors causing autism..

I think many people following on the heels of the Covid era are Leary of the medical community.
We don’t trust them the way we once did.
I think many are starting to sit up and pay attention to things that people have been claiming for years.
Personally I would not automatically dismiss this man’s opinion just because he does not have a medical degree.

Allen,
While I respect that you have been practicing holistic medicine for many years, it is important for you to keep educating yourself on issues you opine on over ;those years.
With the exception of SOME flu vaccines, NO childhood vaccines have had thimerosol (containing ethylmercury) as apreservative since about 1997 (28 years). additionally, there are flu vaccines that do not contain mercury should a parent choose.
While thimerosol was removed from childhood vaccines over a quarter century ago due to controversy and concern about a link to autism, dozens if not hundreds of independent studies since that time have conclusively shown that no such link exists.
to recap:
1) mercury is no longer used as a preservative in nearly all childhood vaccines, and
2) there is no scientifically valid evidence that mercury in vaccines ever had any link to autism.
You risk the health of children by telling their parents untrue claims and urging them to hold off vaccinating children until after they are 2 years old.

Seems wise to follow the advice of your child’s pediatrician regarding timing of vaccinations.
