Dark day for American democracy

April 1, 2025 by Guest Post

by Wayne Adair, Hamilton

The Trump/Vance ongoing seminar on inept leadership techniques was center stage in the Oval Office Feb. 28 when Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky met to discuss the future of American support for the ongoing war with Russia.

A “bone-spurred” draft dodger ambushed Ukraine’s wartime president who has led his underdog nation with courage and skill, denying Moscow’s predicted three-day conquest and forcing a three-year battle whose outcome remains in doubt.

What followed for the next two hours was a virtual checklist of dictatorial behavior that should outrage every lover of American democracy.

Trump’s complaint leveled toward the Ukrainian leader? Zelensky hasn’t groveled sufficiently like virtually all Republicans in the convicted felon’s orbit.

Zelensky had to talk over Trump’s childish gibberish. The Ukrainian leader explained that he has expressed gratitude repeatedly for the war-fighting material supplied by the US and other NATO countries for years, including twice in that Oval Office meeting.

Vance jumped into the fray, complaining that Zelensky was discussing private diplomatic matters in front of the media. The vice president ignored the fact that the Trump-Vance team arranged the meeting in front of the television cameras.

Trump took the cue to complain to the point of insult how Zelensky was having trouble recruiting new troops to commit to the battlefield. The orange Julius Caesar ignored how his hero Vladimir Putin has been forced to empty Russian prisons to keep the pipeline of fresh troops filled and convinced North Korea to export “elite” troops to the killing fields of Ukraine. The main battle skill displayed by the underfed, undersized Communist soldiers is an uncanny ability to attract bullets and shrapnel.

Donald Trump deluded himself into thinking he could bully a leader who has been standing toe-to-toe with the Russian Bear for three years. A chubby orange tabby cat and toothless lap dog could not intimidate Zelensky.

Feb. 28, 2025, marked the last day America stood tall as Europe’s most stalwart defender and became just another stepping stone on Putin’s path toward reestablishing the Soviet Union.

Any American who voted for Trump or refused to vote at all is complicit in this betrayal. It was a dark day for democracy.

I care about Trump’s draft dodging because he lied about having bone spurs to avoid military service. Biden and Clinton had legitimate college deferments. That is not draft dodging. Trump, as well, had student deferments. No problem there. But when his deferments ran out he lied about his health problems. That’s the difference. However, draft dodging is probably the smallest reason I hate that orange SOB.

So you only care about Trump’s draft dodging, and not high school football/lifeguard star Biden’s alleged asthma, or Clinton’s dodging, or Obama’s failure to serve at all? That’s called bias. How does a high school football/track star suddenly have asthma come draft time and never a word about it before then? Did Biden lie about his health to get five draft deferments and not have to serve? That hardly seems legitimate. Clinton gamed the system with ROTC. According to Frontline/PBS, Clinton wrote “ROTC was the one way left in which I could possibly, but not positively, avoid both Vietnam and resistance… After I signed the ROTC letter of intent I began to wonder whether the compromise I had made with myself was not more objectionable than the draft would have been, because I had no interest in the ROTC program in itself and all I seemed to have done was to protect myself from physical harm… At that time, after we had made our agreement and you had sent my 1 – D deferment to my draft board…”. There’s a lot there from Clinton… maybe you’ll look it up and educate yourself.

Psychology Today, Sep 25, 2024 stated “…the late political columnist and commentator Charles Krauthammer, a psychiatrist… defined Trump derangement syndrome as a Trump-induced “general hysteria” that produced an “inability to distinguish between legitimate policy differences and signs of psychic pathology” in the president’s behavior. Journalist Fareed Zakaria, moreover, defined TDS as “hatred of President Trump so intense that it impairs people’s judgment.” ”

Liberals preach tolerance, love, and acceptance of all people, but when it hits the fan, true colors come out and it’s ugly… just like your hateful, petty, and intolerant words above. YOU, WMA, have what Zakaria said is “TDS as “hatred of President Trump so intense that it impairs people’s judgment.”

Wayne, can you explain to me why dems make such a big deal about Trump’s deferrals, but never say anything about high school football star/lifeguard Biden’s five alleged asthma deferrals, or Clinton avoiding the draft, or Obama not serving?

Exactly Mike! Are darkest day in the United States was the cover up of a Presidency that had a dysfunctional, mentally disabled person recklessly and illegally elected.

When did the bleeding hearts become such virulent warmongers?
The Boomers have all turned in Dick Cheney.
