Justice prevails

March 26, 2025 by Guest Post

by Tony Hudson, Stevensville

And to the republic for which it stands. In a small courtroom in Hamilton, Montana, Tuesday morning, justice prevailed, rules, and law were followed, a win for public trust.

Since the June 2024 primary election, a majority of elected precinct captains have been fighting for the right to represent the citizens who elected them in said election. Sadly, county leadership of the Ravalli County Republican Central Committee has refused to re-organize following the June 2024 primary election, an act that is in direct violation of state law.

Why, you may ask. This was nothing more than an elaborate deception to concentrate power based on the results of the 2022 primary election, with the written intent of not holding board reorganization elections until sometime in late 2026 or 2027. Interestingly, this election deception was perpetrated by a fringe group of John Birchers who for the last five years have been screaming about election fraud and integrity. Surprise surprise, they have now found themselves in that very position, election deception.

Rest assured that this merry band of Birchers are howling their usual righteous and dehumanizing rhetoric on social media, all the while using the seductive chants of justice, God and freedom. This age-old brand of righteousness borders on fascism.

America is blessed with a Bill of Rights, but with those rights come responsibilities. Our great nation is a republic and one of the greatest responsibilities we have is to follow the rule of law even when we despise these very rules. As for the drumbeat of biblical references by the righteous, I would ask, please start with love thy neighbor as thyself. Treat others as you would want to be treated.

May God continue to bless this great republic, the United States of America.
