Florence wrestlers win divisionals

The Florence boys wrestling team won the 2024 Western B/C Divisional Championship in Shelby on February 2-3. As a team, the Falcons scored 239 total points, 51 more than second place Eureka. It was a true team effort as the Falcons had 13 wrestlers place 8th or better. The Florence girls placed 10th in the girls event. 

Florence had two individual Divisional Champions. Hailey Sutton was the girls Divisional Champion at 152 lbs; Sutton is now 22-0 on the season. For the boys, Rowan Miller was the boys Divisional Champion at 113 lbs. 

The following are the individual results for Florence. Rowan Miller placed 1st at 113. Seth Wilson placed 2nd at 145. Christian Englund placed 3rd at 160. Malorey Lawrence (girls) placed 3rd at 126. Sam Geiser placed 4th at 113. Jett Murray placed 4th at 170. Jacob Roth placed 4th at 205. Arie McLaughlin placed 4th at 285. Jon Post placed 5th at 132. Brett Riley placed 5th at 152. Isaac Nicoson placed 6th at 132. Max Rosenthal placed 7th at 120. Tash Murray placed 7th 138. Braden Carter placed 8th at 145.

The Darby girls qualified three for State. Gracey Wood placed 2nd at 100. Logan Paddock placed 3rd at 152. Halana May placed 6th at 165. As a team, the Darby girls placed 12th, while the Darby boys finished 22nd.
