The Florence boys wrestling team took 3rd place in the Class B/C Duals in Townsend on Saturday, Jan. 20th. Florence lost to eventual champion Huntley Project 12-63 in the first round. They defeated Manhattan 57-6 in the first round consolation, then Jefferson 54-24 in the consolation semifinals, and, finally, they defeated Anaconda 46-24 in the consolation match to earn 3rd place.
The wrestling teams from Corvallis, Hamilton and Stevensville were at the Class A duals in Butte on Friday, Jan. 19th and Saturday, Jan. 20th. The teams had pool matches on Friday and either made it to the Championship or Consolation bracket on Saturday. The three valley schools all qualified for the Consolation bracket, where Corvallis took 1st, Hamilton took 2nd, and Stevensville took 7th.
The girls wrestling teams from Corvallis, Hamilton, and Stevensville competed in the Butte Central Girls Invitational in Butte on Jan. 19th & 20th. Stevensville’s Keenya Gibson was the only girl to place at the event placing 3rd at 132 lbs.
