Application for mayor

January 24, 2024 by Guest Post

by Susan Devlin, Stevensville

I learned several days ago that Jeff Gee went to town hall when the notice went out for people to apply for the vacant mayor’s position when Gibson resigned. He asked for an application and filled it out while standing at the counter. He turned it into an employee, along with his resume.

He has lived in Stevensville for 20+ years, is over 18 and is a qualified candidate.

However, the town council announced that “two people” had applied for the mayoral position….but Mr. Gee’s application wasn’t included as a third applicant.

I called town hall yesterday, January 18, 2024 at 12:41 p.m. to ask why his application hadn’t been included in consideration. As usual, no one answered but I left a very specific message for the town clerk, Jenelle. I stated the reason for my call and asked for someone to please call me back with an answer as to what happened to Mr. Gee’s application.

As of this time, 9:52 a.m. January 19, 2024, no one from town hall has called me back. This situation concerns me, as it should everyone who cares about this town and what is happening or not happening.

    Ah Sue Allan/Devlin/??,
Please get a life. Mr. Michalson has stated he will only fill the remaining term of Mr. Gibson
He won’t have nearly enough time to fix everything that Dewey and Co. and you and the Gees have done to Stevensville. If you really believe that Jeff applied, then you are delusional.
