What part will you play?

December 4, 2023 by Guest Post

by Archie Thomas & Merry Schrumpf, Corvallis

As an American citizen, what part will you be forced to play?

As a private citizen you are arrested while making a living; living your life or expressing your beliefs differently than defined as “whether legally or illegally, to destroy America”?

As a County Commissioner, Clerk and Recorder, election officer/volunteer or local elected official; which local citizens and/or your neighbors will you identify “that live like vermin within the confines of our country (or county), lie, steal, and cheat on elections”?

As a sheriff, police officer, highway patrolman or in the active duty military, what part of “we” in this pledge will you be forced to take part in “we pledge to you that we will root out the Communists, Marxists, Racists, and Radical Left Thugs“?

As a private citizen how will you know when Nazi-era language, laws and government acts do not apply to you?

“In honor of our great Veterans on Veteran’s Day [sic] we pledge to you that we will root out the Communists, Marxists, Racists, and Radical Left Thugs that live like vermin within the confines of our Country, lie, steal, and cheat on Elections, and will do anything possible, whether legally or illegally, to destroy America, and the American Dream…. Despite the hatred and anger of the Radical Left Lunatics who want to destroy our country, we will MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN.” Claremont, New Hampshire, Veterans Day address 2023, Donald J Trump.

Silence is not an option. Rather silence is normalizing this public dialog similar to Hitler’s election in Germany prior to World War II. What can you do as an elected office holder or citizen right now? All citizens should insist the county commissioners make a public statement confirming all past elections were valid and in place election systems will insure valid future results. All office holders or future candidates for office should be asked their position on this Veterans Day statement. If the statement is not entirely denounced by them, ask for their resignation and/or vote for anybody else in the next election.

I am a bit late to the punch, but this is an excellent letter. I’m glad that there are people in our community who recognize this rhetoric for what it is: fascist agitation. Hopefully, we hear more from you in the future.
