The girls and boys wrestling teams from Corvallis, Florence, Hamilton, and Stevensville competed alongside 14 other schools from western Montana in the Owen Invitational in Polson on Friday, Dec. 1st and Saturday, Dec. 2nd.
This was the first tournament of the year, and with such a big field, it was a good place for the teams to see how they stack up against each other.
In the girls team standing, Corvallis took 4th with 91 points, Florence took 9th with 48 points, and Hamilton took 10th with 40 points.
Individually for the Corvallis girls, Kaelynn Vanderpool (3-0) took 1st at 107 lbs, Penelope Foster (3-0) took 1st at 120 lbs, Jocelyn Covington (4-1) placed 3rd and Celia Bohman (3-3) placed 6th at 132 lbs, and at 165 lbs, Arden Weidow (1-1) placed 2nd.
Individually for the Florence girls, Hailey Sutton (4-0) took 1st at 152 lbs, and Malorey Lawrence (3-2) placed 4th at 126 lbs.
Individually for the Hamilton girls, Kailey Broad (2-2) placed 4th at 138 lbs, Harley Hanson (1-2) placed 4th at 165 lbs, and at 185 lbs, Elle Irish (2-2) placed 5th.
In the boys team results, Corvallis took 5th with 135 points, Stevensville took 12th with 72 points, Florence took 16th with 51 points, and Hamilton finished 17th with 45 points.
Individually for the Corvallis boys, Kahle Hill (4-2) placed 5th at 113 lbs, Sean Davis (3-1) placed 2nd at 126 lbs, Conner Jessop (2-2) placed 5th at 132 lbs, Ben White (5-1) placed 3rd and Luke Nuttall (3-2) placed 5th at 138 lbs, and Cade Olson (6-2) placed 4th at 170 lbs.
Individually for the Stevensville boys, William Chiavarini (5-2) placed 4th at 138, 152 Matthew Liedtka (3-3) placed 6th at 152, Elliott Darnall (3-2) placed 5th at 170.
Individually for the Florence boys, Rowan Miller (4-2) placed 5th at 120 lbs.
Individually for the Hamilton boys, Cameron Beall (3-3) placed 6th at 126, Aidan Toniazzo (4-3) placed 6th at 182, Clayton Beall (3-3) placed 6th at 205.
Darby
The Darby girls and boys wrestling teams participated in the Cascade Badger Invitational in Cascade on Friday, Dec. 1st and Saturday, Dec. 2nd. In total, there were 22 boys teams and 17 girls teams.
For the girls, Logan Paddock went 2-1 and placed 3rd at 165, and Halana May placed 6th at 165.
For the boys, Liam Lucas and Connor Quinn both went 1-2 at 138 lbs, and Shannon Stuart went 2-2 at 285 lbs.
