Hamilton Wastewater System Improvements 2023
General Notice
The City of Hamilton (Owner) is requesting Bids for the construction of the following Project:
Hamilton Wastewater System Improvements 2023
Bids for the construction of the Project will be received at the City Clerk’s Office, 223 South Second Street, Hamilton, Montana, until Thursday, November 9th, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. local time. At that time the Bids received will be publicly opened and read.
The Project includes but is not limited to the furnishing of the labor, materials, and equipment for the following:
1. Removal and replacement of two existing screw pumps in the Headworks Building of the WWTP.
2. Construction of a new raw sewage pumping station building, modification of an existing wetwell, and installation of two owner furnished self-priming raw sewage pumps.
3. Installation of a new brush aerator in the Oxidation Ditch and removal and replacement of two existing brush aerators in the Oxidation Ditch.
4. Removal and replacement of the existing engine generator and associated transfer equipment with a new larger engine generator.
5. Removal and replacement of the plant’s existing Main Distribution Board.
6. Installation of process control instrumentation and motor operated low pressure air control valve controls at Digester No. 1 and Digester No. 2.
7. Removal of the air pressurization and recycle system for Dissolved Air Flotation Thickener No. 1 and installation of a new dissolved air recycle pump.
8. Modification of the intake on the existing hybrid aeration blower to allow for intake of outside makeup air for the blower operation.
9. Installation of Cast-in-place piping (CIPP) for a segment of the Madison Street Sewer, including rehabilitation of one existing manhole.
Bids will be received for a single prime contract. Bids shall be on a lump sum basis as indicated in the Bid Form.
Obtaining the Bidding Documents
The Issuing Office for the Bidding Documents is: Devie Bessette, HDR Engineering, 700 SW Higgins, Suite 200, Missoula, MT 59803. Prospective Bidders may examine the Bidding Documents at the City of Hamilton Public Works offices 920 New York Avenue, the Missoula Plans Exchange or at the Issuing Office Monday through Friday between the hours of 8 am and 5 pm local time, and may obtain copies of the Bidding Documents from the Issuing Office as described below. Partial sets of Bidding Documents will not be available from the Issuing Office. Neither Owner nor Engineer will be responsible for full or partial sets of Bidding Documents, including Addenda, if any, obtained from sources other than the Issuing Office.
Bidding Documents may be obtained from the Issuing Office during the hours indicated above. Bidding Documents are available by request for online access free of charge. Requests must be made directly to the Issuing Office for inclusion on the planholders’ list for communication on addenda. Alternatively, printed Bidding Documents may be obtained from the Issuing Office either via in-person pick-up or via mail, upon Issuing Office’s receipt of payment for the Bidding Documents. The non-refundable cost of printed Bidding Documents is $50.00 per set, payable to “HDR Engineering, Inc.”, plus a non-refundable shipping charge. Upon Issuing Offices receipt of payment, printed Bidding Documents will be sent via the prospective Bidder’s delivery method of choice; the shipping charge will depend on the shipping method chosen. The date that the Bidding Documents are transmitted by the Issuing Office will be considered the prospective Bidder’s date of receipt of the Bidding Documents. Partial sets of Bidding Documents will not be available from the Issuing Office.
Pre-bid Conference
A pre-bid conference for the Project will be held on Monday, October 23rd, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at the Office of Public Works, 920 New York Avenue, Hamilton, MT, 59840. Attendance at the pre-bid conference is highly encouraged but is not mandatory.
