Birds, butterflies and pesticides

July 17, 2023 by Guest Post

by Abbe Awanee Russell, Missoula

How unbelievable that in our extremely advanced society so many responsible adults haven’t recognized that pesticides, including herbicides, rodenticides, and insecticides, are extremely toxic chemical poisons! Their use is scientifically proven to cause severe debilitating illness, autoimmune disorders, and does kill. They are proven carcinogens. Independent scientific testing detected the presence of the pesticide Dursban eight years after application. A 1996 newscast announced U.S. Environmental Protection Agency findings: toxicity inside homes was 10-100 times greater than that after those toxins were applied.

After pesticides enter our bodies through air, water, food, other exposure, they are not easily metabolized or excreted. Very copious research worldwide does show that they cause birth defects, dementia, mental illness, Alzheimer’s, genital tract abnormality, childhood hyperactivity, human and animal disease and death. Not to mention horrible devastation wrought on beneficial insects, birds and more.

My rural farm childhood provided constant exposure to pesticides. No doctor could explain severe hair loss, vomiting, heart problems, fatigue, my twisted breastbone, memory loss and nosebleeds. As an adult it took me 15 tough years to recover through natural, alternative health and spiritual healing.

We MUST grasp that all use of these chemicals is extremely dangerous, and work together to halt their use. Very viable alternatives already exist: hoeing, pulling weeds, weedeating, buying or making nontoxic sprays. You can contact Arbico, 1-800-827-2017, Catalina AZ or online, use agricultural strength vinegar, essential oil sprays (i.e. clove), and see Natural Grocers for the Green Gobbler.

Give babies, children, all animals, birds, pollinators and our life chain, plus yourself, a precious gift: LIFE and vibrant health!
