The Montana High School Association’s Executive Board held its annual meeting on January 14th & 16th in Missoula. Hamilton’s Activities Director Travis Blome was awarded a MHSA Service Citation during the meeting. The MHSA Executive Board gives this award in recognition of a “Significant Contribution” to the MHSA. At the meeting, the board played a video for Travis, highlighting all that he has done for the MHSA. “Travis has been a huge asset to the MHSA,” said Brian Michelotti, MHSA Executive Director, “and this is an award to recognize him for all his hard work.”
The majority of changes from the meeting had to do with conference realignments. The following were relevant changes for Bitterroot Valley Schools starting with the 2023-2024 school year. In Class A football, the Southwest Conference in the Western Division will include Corvallis, Stevensville, Hamilton, Dillon, Butte Central, and Frenchtown. In Class B football, Florence will be in the West division with Anaconda, Eureka, Loyola, Thompson Falls, and Whitehall. In Class C, 8-Man football, Victor and Darby are in the West division with Arlee, Charlo, Plains, St. Ignatius, Superior, Troy, and Valley Christian. In Class B Basketball, Track, and Volleyball, Florence and Darby will be in Western Division in District 6B with Anaconda, Arlee, Loyola, and Deer Lodge.
