Stevensville
On Tuesday, January 17th, the Stevensville girls traveled to East Helena and won, 51-39. The Lady Yellowjackets jumped out to a 19-9 first quarter lead and didn’t look back. Stevensville’s Claire Hutchison led the scoring with 15 points, Cambree Praast had 8, and Shilo McLain Lampi added 6. Then on Thursday, they played a solid Frenchtown team and lost, 46-59. Claire Hutchison once again led in scoring with 17 points, Cambree Praast had 12, and Shilo McLain Lampi added 8.
On Tuesday, the Stevenville boys hosted East Helena and lost in a tight contest. The game was 32-32 at halftime, but East Helena pulled away in the second half for the 64-56 victory. Stevensville’s Kellan Beller had his best game of the season with 26 points, Tad Tackes had 15, and Gracen Trevino added 13. Then on Thursday, they played a tough Frenchtown squad and were defeated, 41-72. Kellan Beller led with 16 points, Gracen Trevino had 12 and Tad Tackes added 8.
Florence
The Florence girls played Missoula Loyola on Tuesday, January 17th and lost in an overtime thriller. Florence had a 10-point lead going into the 4th quarter, but Loyola rallied to tie the game and win in overtime. Then on Thursday, they played Deer Lodge and won easily, 52-24.
The Florence boys played Deer Lodge on Thursday and won, 59-45. The Falcons held a 3 point halftime lead, and outscored the Wardens 37-26 in the second half for the victory. Patrick Duchien led all scorers with 13 points, Jesse Padilla had 12, and Ethan Alexander added 9.
