Jean H. Hutchison

Jean H. Hutchison. 93, of Stevensville went to be with the Lord on October 15, 2022. She was born in Harlowton, MT to Oscar Edwin Hagberg and Irene Dreesman Hagberg.

She was the oldest of eight kids. She attended a small country school called Olaf School through 8th grade, then attended Harlowton High School. She worked at Murray’s Cafe where she met her future husband, James (Jay) D. Hutchison, Sr. They married on September 28th, 1946 after James was honorably discharged from the Navy. They raised four children while living in Harlowton, Polson, Deer Lodge and Stevensville. She worked at the Postal Service in Deer Lodge and Missoula. They moved to Stevensville in 1972, where they built their own house on 40 acres. 

She loved the Lord, her family, raising sheep, making beautiful jewelry, crocheting, sewing quilts, building furniture and her cats. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband James D. Hutchison Sr., three brothers John Hagberg, Harold (Herk) Hagberg and Jim Hagberg, sister Ellen Zaharko and several other relatives.

Survivors include: her children James D. Hutchison Jr. (Kathy) of Lolo, Donna Koehnke of Hamilton, Harry Hutchison (Lonie) of Victor, Debra (Stan) Clevidence of Stevensville and foster daughter Rita Young of Hungry Horse, grandchildren Heather Hutchison, Traci Clark, Jodi Koehnke, Anni (Mark) Crawford, Josh (Kate) Koehnke, Hannah (Everett) Jones, Jeremy (Peggy) Hutchison, Erin (Travis) Hill and Josie Clevidence, 10 great grandchildren, two great, great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.

The family will begin receiving friends at 10 a.m. Monday, October 24, 2022 with funeral services to be held at 11 a.m. at Whitesitt Funeral Home in Stevensville. A graveside service will follow at the Victor Cemetery where she will be buried next to her loving husband. 

Goodbye for now, Mom. We will see you in heaven. We love you very much!
