The Hamilton girls’ soccer team defeated Livingston 2-0 on Friday, October 14th to advance to the State semifinals. They will face the No. 1 seed from the North, Whitefish, on Saturday, October 22nd at 12 noon in Whitefish. Against Livingston, Hamilton’s Hannah Hughes scored the first goal off an assist from Emilee Searle, and Mariah Johnson scored the second goal with an assist from Hughes. As was the case for most of the season, Hamilton defense was solid, and goalkeeper Lexi Brenneman earned another shutout.
In other State Soccer action, the Hamilton boys lost 1-2 to Whitefish. Alain Garcia scored Hamilton’s goal. The Stevensville boys lost 1-2 against Livingston. The Corvallis girls lost 3-6 to Columbia Falls. Corvallis’s Sydney Wolsky had two goals, Elsa Miller had a goal, and Rylee Herbstritt and Abi Buoy each had assists. And the Stevensville girls lost 0-5 to Billings Central.
