The well-oiled machine that is Hamilton football kept chugging along on Friday, Sept. 23rd against visiting Stevensville, winning 44-13 in front of a rowdy homecoming crowd. The 406mtsports.com No. 1 ranked Broncs thoroughly dominated their neighbors to the north on offense and defense. They built a 44-0 lead in the third quarter, which gave the second team players a chance to play in the homecoming game. A spirited Stevensville squad was able to get two late touchdowns to make the final score 44-13. Once again, Hamilton’s defense stood tall, thwarting Stevensville’s offense, making it hard for the ‘Jackets to do anything.

On offense, Hamilton’s quarterback Tyson Bauder rushed for 82 yards, passed for 159 yards, and had five total touchdowns, two rushing and three passing. Eli Taylor, Liam O’Connell, and Lucas Lant each had TD receptions, Jesse Anson and Noah Johnson each rushed for a TD. Andrew Frederick rushed for 77 yards.
For Stevensville, Kellan Beller had 59 yards rushing with one TD, Gracen Trevino had 98 yards passing and threw a TD pass to Hunter Gum, who had 6 catches for 58 yards.
Hamilton will play at East Helena on Friday, Sept. 30th, while Stevensville will host Corvallis on Friday, Sept. 30th at 7pm for their Homecoming game.
In other valley football news, Corvallis got their first win of the season on Friday, Sept 23rd, beating visiting Butte Central 20-14. Down 6-16 in the 4th quarter, Corvallis scored two straight touchdowns to take the lead. The second TD came with seven minutes left in the game when Corvallis quarterback Aydan Mayn connected with Solomon Morgan on a quick screen pass. Morgan broke numerous tackles and took the pass 60 yards for the go-ahead score. Corvallis then held on for the victory. Corvallis’s Mayn passed for 216 yards and two TD’s, while Will Bohenek rushed for 100 yards and one TD. Corvallis plays in Stevensville on Friday, Sept. 30th at 7pm.
Florence-Carlton, the No. 3 ranked 406mtsports.com Class B team, got back to their winning ways with a dominating performance over No. 7 ranked Eureka on Friday, Sept. 23rd. The visiting Falcons defeated Eureka 48-15. Florence’s Patrick Duchien threw for 296 yards and five TD’s. Colten Rice had two rushing TD’s. Receiver Tyler Abbott had a huge game, catching five passes for 161 yards and three touchdowns. Isaac Bates and Brodie Hinsdale also caught TD passes.
Victor traveled to play No. 6 ranked St. Ignatius on Friday, Sept. 23rd and lost 6-65. Victor will host Superior on Saturday, October 1st at 1 p.m.
Darby ran up against a tough Charlo team on Friday, Sept. 23rd and lost 0-48. Darby will host powerhouse St. Ignatius on Friday, October 7th.
