Golfers from Corvallis, Stevensville, and Hamilton competed in the Western A Divisionals in Libby on Friday, September 23rd. The Hamilton girls team took 2nd place, and the Corvallis boys and Hamilton boys teams tied for 3rd place. The top four girls and boys teams from Divisionals go on to State next week in Hamilton, along with the top 8 players whose team didn’t advance.
The Hamilton girls team includes: Emma Hollingsworth, Brooklyn Brown, Mckinley Murray, Fern Stewart, and Bryn Cianflone. Individually, Hollingsworth and Cianflone tied for 9th place, Brown finished 11th, Stewart tied for 16th, and Murray tied for 22nd.
The Corvallis boys team includes: Brady Powell, Tate Jessop, Tag Jessop, Aden Fisher, and Shane Lachenauer. Individually, Powell finished in 3rd place, Tate and Tag Jessop tied for 14th, Fisher tied for 34th, and Lachenauer took 44th.
The Hamilton boys team includes: Jackson Heath, Max Cianflone, Carson Richie, Cole Dickermore, and Tyce O’Connell. Individually, Heath took 11th, Richie took 12th, and Cianflone, Dickmore, and O’Connell tied for 22nd.
Stevensville’s girls Cambree Praast and Cheyenne Sannar both qualified for State. Praast finished 7th while Sannar finished 16th. Selwyn Hackett tied for 38th and was Stevensville’s highest boys placer.
The Class A State golf tournament takes place at the Hamilton Golf Club on Friday, Sept. 30th and Saturday, October 1st.
