Myra M. Peltier

Stevensville – Myra M. Peltier, 81, of Stevensville passed away Monday August 15, 2022 at Marcus-Daly Hospital in Hamilton. She was born in Waseca, MN on June 22, 1941 to Milton James and Lucille Kathryn (Yess) Mariska.

Myra attended Nursing School in Fargo, ND. She received her Practical Nursing Diploma and worked for over 35 years in the nursing field in the Alzheimer’s Dementia units. She first worked at Hawthorn Elementary School in Missoula as a Nurse Aid before she started to work for St. Patrick Hospital. She later worked at the Village Health Care Center. She retired in 2018.

Myra was married to Larry M. Peltier on September 22, 1961 in Missoula. She joined the AKC Dog Club, raising and showing dogs all over the state for years. She also joined a couple of Gem and Fossil Clubs in Missoula and the Bitterroot Valley. She was a member of the Hellgate Mineral Society. She loved rock shows and rock hounding, family trips, going to Yellowstone and Glacier Parks.

Myra was preceded in death by her mother and father, her husband, a son, John Michael Peltier and a grandson, Jacob Michael Peltier. She is survived by a sister, Kathryn Hansen of Seattle, WA; a brother, Bud Mariska of Great Falls; a son, James Peltier of Victor; nieces, Jennifer Hansen of California, Jamie Valvoda, Jessie Hill, Sara Mariska and Hope Mariska, all of Helena.

Cremation has taken place and no service will be held at this time. The family suggests that memorial donations may be made in Myra’s name to a local animal shelter, the Alzheimer’s Association or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
