Florence enters the Class B/C State Tournament as the #1 seed out of the Western Division and plays #4 seed Cut Bank on Thursday, May 26th in Lewistown. Florence-Carlton won four straight games to win the Western B/C Softball tournament in Plains on May 19th-21st. In the first game, pitcher Kylie Kovatch didn’t allow a hit as Florence shut out Thompson Falls-Noxon, 15-0. In the second game, Kasidy Yeoman went 3 for 3 with 4 RBIs in their 17-2 win over Manhattan. In the semifinal game, Kovatch had nine strikeouts in a 12-0 victory over St. Ignatius/Arlee/Charlo. Finally, in the Championship game on May 21st, Ava Philbrick and Kasidy Yeoman both had 4 RBIs in their 15-11 victory over St. Ignatius.
Corvallis is the 2nd seed in the Southwest Division and will play Ronan, the 3rd seed out of the Northwest Division, in the Class A State Tournament in Hamilton at 11am on May 26th. The Corvallis girls finished out the regular season with a 7-10 loss to Hamilton on May 18th and a 19-13 win over Dillon on May 19th. In their win over Dillon, Macee Greenwood went 4 for 5, Gabby Krueger went 3 for 5 with 4 RBIs, and Trinity Mclane scored 3 runs and had 3 RBIs.
