Corvallis High School hosted 16 Montana schools in the Blue Devil Invitational on Saturday, March 26 on a beautiful spring day. In the girls’ team results, Corvallis finished in 2nd place, Hamilton finished in 3rd, Stevensville finished in 6th, Florence finished 11th, and Victor took 15th. On the boys side, Hamilton took 1st place, Corvallis took 6th, Stevensville took 8th, Florence finished 12th, and Victor finished 15th.
Stevensville’s Claire Hutchison had an outstanding meet, winning the 100 Meter Dash, the 200 Meter Dash, and the High Jump. Hamilton’s Lane Cole, the defending State Champion in the 3200 meters, won the 1600 meters. Stevensville’s Kellen Bellar, the defending State Champion in the Javelin, had a throw of 174-06 to win the Javelin.
Other 1st place finishers from Bitterroot Valley schools on the girls’ side included: Olivia Buoy (Corvallis) in the 800 meters; Laurie Davidson (Corvallis) in the 1600 meters; Ryanne Child (Hamilton) in the 3200 meters; Madison Lewis (Corvallis) in the Shot Put, and Mya Winkler (Hamilton) in the Javelin.
1st place finishers on the boys’ side included: Brinson Wyche (Corvallis) in the 3200 meters; Andrew Carmody (Hamilton) in the Pole Vault; and Andrew Burrows (Hamilton) in the Shot Put.
