William Russell Anderson

Hamilton – William Russell Anderson, 90, passed away early in the morning, Saturday, February 5, 2022, in Grantsdale at his home.

William was born October 13, 1931, in Butte, Montana to Russell and Agnes (Bary) Anderson.

Shortly after his birth, the family moved to Salmon, Idaho, where William attended middle school and graduated from Salmon High School.

He joined the Army in 1950 to 1952, serving during the Korean War in Munich, Germany as a food inspector.

After his honorable discharge he returned back to Hamilton, with Karolina “Lina” Schottl whom he met in Munich, Germany.  He later married the love of his life in 1956 in Hamilton.

In 1962 and went to work for the Rocky Mountain Laboratory as animal caretaker until his retirement in 1993.

He was predeceased by his wife Lina in 1976 and daughter Suzanna Siemion.

William is survived by sons William L. Anderson and Raymond P. Anderson (Cheri Beeler), daughter Barbara Barber (Rich) and brother Raymond F. Anderson (Kathy); grandchildren: Anastasia, Ryan, Mike, Chris, Raymond, Morgan, Shanda and Melissa Egan. Along with numerous other relatives.

A Funeral Service will be held with visitation at the Grantsdale Community Church at 2 PM, Friday, February 11, 2022, in Grantsdale.  The graveside service will follow at the Riverview Cemetery in Hamilton.  Pastor Richard Moore will be officiating.  The reception will be held at the Grantsdale Community Church following the graveside service.
