Recognition for county airport (and other infrastructure) support

February 23, 2022 by Guest Post

by Scott Weaver, Hamilton

It was pleasing and encouraging to see the Star’s Jan. 5 recognition of benefits due from the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA).  Though it didn’t acknowledge Sen. Tester’s name in the headline, it did well to spell out his great involvement in the accomplishment. Much thanks to Sen. Tester is warranted.

It was also diligent to recognize that “Tester was the only member of Montana’s congressional delegation to vote for the legislation.” This is consistent with the others’ ongoing efforts to simply do nothing for the average American, and Montanans more specifically.

The robo-calls for Sen. Daines “town hall meetings” expressly and mainly mention his efforts to simply fight our duly elected president Joe Biden’s agenda.

The mail flyer received last month on behalf of Rep. Rosendale is generally touting his allegiance to the former president’s failed policy positions, and opposing the current administration in place. He is really pursuing his own radical right agenda.

I reckon that if the average person had been awarded any position to get something done, but only spent ll their time standing in the way of getting anything done, they’d get fired! Especially on such a salary…and I reckon the general opinion would be that it would certainly be warranted.  (Anyone else in the real world?)

(It will be interesting to see how our state senator Ellsworth pats himself and his party on the back via this paper and shows up for the ribbon cutting(s) when the funds arrive…)

I’d encourage our citizens to seriously recognize the facts as to what is best for our families, community, and nation, especially when our next elections come, instead of simply whether there is an R, D, L, or I next to an election candidate’s name.
