The Corvallis girls traveled to Stevensville on Tuesday to square off with their Bitterroot neighbors to the north. A competitive game throughout, the Lady ‘Jackets used a strong fourth quarter to come away with a 51-42 victory.

The Stevensville girls won due to a great team effort, with strong play by starters Kelti Wandler, Hailey Thomas, Shilo Lampi, Claire Hutchison, and Cambree Praast. Dawsyn Brewer and Lexy Perez provided sparks off the bench.

The Corvallis girls were led by Madeline Gilder with 16 points and Alina Brown added eight. Olivia Lewis, Tylin Sorensen, and Brecklyn Jessop played solid games. Laurie Davidson and Ericka Jessop came off the bench with strong performances.

Stevensville led 17-13 after the first quarter and held a 26-23 halftime lead.  Corvallis had a strong third quarter to pull within one at the start of the fourth, trailing 31-32. But Stevensville owned the fourth quarter, outscoring Corvallis 19-11. The Jackets were able to couple strong defense with good free throw shooting to preserve the 51-42 victory.

The Stevensville Lady Jackets hosted a strong Butte Central team on Saturday and fell, 47-28. The Jackets had a cold shooting night and trailed 27-19 at halftime, then got outscored 20-9 in the final two quarters.
