Someone needs to ask the County Council just exactly how many deaths and how many active COVID cases will be required for them to see the need to do as other counties and communities are doing.. How many more must die, and how many more must suffer before they do as the best advice has suggested we need to be doing.

We need to do it BEFORE we become like Billings. We are not prepared to recover from that level of infection and medical distress. We cannot afford the costs which we will certainly have to bear. People do not recover from this in the way they do from Flu. There can be life-long damage from this virus.

In New York and other cities the medical support systems are collapsing due to the load placed on them by the stresses of responding to repeated spikes in COVID. Those spikes have been caused by disregarding reasonable actions to limit contact and infection.

How long will it take and how many damaged lives will be required to persuade the Council members it is time to do the right thing?

Ideology trumps facts and actual thinking these days. Some think if they repeat a fallacy loudly, angrily and often enough then actual reality will do their bidding and get in line with their mistaken beliefs. We are so used to defying natural law that we think it can be repealed. Ignorance of nature is no excuse. We are getting bitten in the ass because we have turned our arrogant backs on nature. Nature does bat last, as they say.
