My father was a proud Korean war veteran. He died 2-1/2 years ago and although I miss him every day, I am glad that he doesn’t have to hear President Trump’s cruel and disrespectful comments about American military personnel and veterans. Words such as “losers” and “suckers” and calling wounded and fallen heroes from wars as far back as WWII and up until current troop deployments “not heroes.”
My father supported Trump and would be highly angered by such words. These insults are compounded by the fact that Trump not only doesn’t support our troops with due respect, but he hasn’t lifted a finger to deal with the Russians paying bounties for killing brave American service members. This information was in the president’s daily briefs months ago and he has spoken to Putin multiple times since without ever speaking about or demanding a stop to this horror.
There is no way that I could vote to re-elect such a person and I am sure that my father – if he was still alive – would not be able to either.
