The Corvallis boys’ soccer team fell to Frenchtown, 5-2, on Thursday. Although Corvallis
scored first in the match, the Broncs came back to win. In the second half, the keeper for Frenchtown was given a yellow card and had to exit the game for a play. It was a chance for Corvallis to score but the replacement keeper, Greyden Beyer, knocked down a couple of shots by the Blue Devils. Corvallis had a couple more chances to score, including a penalty kick but did not score again.
In the girls game, Corvallis quickly jumped out to an early lead with a long pass to Lauren Criddle who booted the goal. She finished with four goals in the 6-0 win. Kaytle Herbstreit scored two goals, both penalty kicks, in the win.
Loyola 3, Stevensville 3
Loyola and Stevensville boys soccer teams played to a 3-3 tie on Saturday. Loyolas Luca Dombrowski took a Max Sianchuk assist to score at the 10 minute mark of the game. Stevensville scored at the 25 minute mark when Garrett Schreiber nailed a penalty kick. In the second half, Schreiber shot Luke Gross the ball who hit the back of the net for the goal. Will Burns scored at 60 minutes for Loyola. Schreiber and Gross paired up again at the 66 minute mark to give the Yellowjackets the edge. However Dombrowski came right back and made the shot for the tie.
Stevensville took eight shots on goal and Camden Johnson had seven saves.
The Loyola girls defeated Stevensville, 3-0.
