Hamilton Broncs remain undefeated

September 29, 2020 by Jean Schurman

For the past three weeks, the Hamilton Broncs have relied upon a high octane offense to deliver high-scoring wins. On Friday, the Broncs had to rely upon their defense to pull out a 21-6 win over Frenchtown.

Hamilton gave up the only Frenchtown score, on the opening drive. Then, the defense went to work. Hamilton stopped the Frenchtown Broncs twice in the red zone on downs. In all, Frenchtown had to punt eight times in the game. Liam O’Connell had a fumble recovery for Hamilton that turned into a 21 yard touchdown. Tyson Rostad completed a pass to Jaiden Klemundt for one Bronc touchdown. Rostad also raced 21 yards for the six points.

Hamilton is currently ranked No. 1 in the state with a 5-0 record. Miles City and Billings Central are also undefeated with records of 3-0 each. Hamilton will play Columbia Falls in Columbia Falls on Friday.

Stevensville was scheduled to play Butte Central but that game was cancelled due to a COVID-19 diagnosis in Butte Central. Corvallis lost to Dillon. Florence had a junior varsity game against Deer Lodge who is not fielding a varsity team this season.

Darby lost to St. Ignatius, 34-14. Derek Parks had two touchdowns. Darby also got a safety, however Mission scored two safeties as well as four touchdowns. Victor lost to Plains, 52-20.
