Response to ‘Me vs We’ and ‘40 acres and a mule’

August 11, 2020 by Guest Post

By Dee Gibney, Hamilton

To Me vs We: Just because you claim you have taken a few courses in history and civics does not make you an expert in those fields nor can you claim you know more than most people. I also happen to know for a fact that many of the people who attend the “Stand up for Freedom Patriots” have taken a course in Constitutional studies given by a local person, which is an ongoing study. You said you don’t understand the attitude that individual rights reign supreme over our collective well-being. Let me explain. The Constitution protects individual rights, democracy can rule over the majority and socialism is all must do for the good of all aka no rights. We are a republic which means we have individual rights and not the socialist idea that we all must do for the good of all. If you are wearing a mask then you should not be threatened by those who don’t. Besides we were told Covid dies at 80 degrees. Oh FYI, “We the People” in the Preamble was stating who was writing the Constitution and yes, the Constitution is about individual rights.

Mary, it sounds like you did not grow up where there were many black people, I did. They went to the same schools I did, had the same opportunities, lived in nice homes, many nicer than mine. Yes, some do live in poverty but so do many whites. Many blacks are very well educated today and have attended college. There are black lawyers, doctors, and many are CEO positions. What about all your black sports figures, singers, movie stars, TV actors, they live in huge mansions. So, don’t talk about under privileged, they have had many a boot strap (as you like to put it) to pull themselves up with in society. In fact, what you have been writing is insulting and racist toward them. Also speak for yourself, I am not afraid of blacks, nor do I know of any whites who are, like you claim. I have had many for friends over my lifetime. Most whites look at them like anyone else, they are people just like me. So, if you are afraid, you have the problem, not others. There was no racism that I could see until the Democrats started promoting it and stirring up the pot of more racism. Blacks are not under privileged, they have the same opportunities we all do, in fact in many cases more opportunities. So, stop spreading your lies about how under privileged they are and how terrible you think whites are towards them. People like you are the problem in America!
