The Ravalli County Planning Department is inviting public comment on floodplain application FA-20-07 for work proposed within the FEMA regulated floodplain of the Bitterroot River. Floodplain permit application FA-20-07 proposes renewing expired floodplain permit FA-17-18 which was issued on August 3rd, 2018. The applicant is Chistopher Waltman. Floodplain permit FA-17-18 permitted Mr. Waltman to dig a pond, construct an elevated building site, and construct a shop/home along with all associated utilities. The project is located about 4,000 feet south of Stevensville Cut Off Road, and approximately 1,500 feet west of the main stem of the Bitterroot River, in Section 28, Township 9 North, Range 20 West, Ravalli County. Information regarding this application is available at the Ravalli County Planning Department at 215 S 4th St, Suite F in Hamilton. Written comments may be mailed, hand-delivered or emailed (planning@rc.mt.gov) and must be received by Thursday July 15th, 2020 at 5:00 pm. (Reference Application #FA-20-07).
