Support for Ballance

April 21, 2020 by Guest Post

By Former Rep. Ron Ehli, House Majority Leader 2017, Hamilton

It is unprecedented times like these, we expect our political leaders to do exactly that; lead.  Whether it is President Trump or Governor Bullock, unprecedented and extremely tough decisions need to be made, and are being made.  While we do not always agree with every decision made by our leadership, it is my hope is that we at least applaud true leadership when we see it, and recognize the strength it takes to make those decisions in these tenuous times.

In recognizing true leadership, one such standout is current Representative Nancy Ballance.  Serving 4 terms on House appropriations, the last three as the Chair of Appropriations, there are few others more legislatively qualified to lead this state through what is sure to be some of the most challenging budgetary times in the history of Montana.  Working through this pandemic crisis in Montana, and having a sense of what is to come, we need to be looking for proven leadership.  Those that have shown their leadership skills, those willing to step into the fray and have a legitimate debate on how Montana will successfully move forward.

In my tenure as Republican House Majority Leader, I worked with differing factions of legislators.  As it is with any political group, you would have those that rose to the top to lead, and those that do nothing more than spew political ideologies, and criticize the decisions of others.  All one has to do, to recognize true leadership, is look to Montana’s legislative website.  In looking, and comparing legislator’s record of accomplishments, it will show who has shown the capacity to lead, and Representative Ballance will be at the top of that list of accomplishments.

In these uncertain times, I will be supporting conservative candidates with the experience needed to get us through what is sure to be some difficult times ahead for Montana.  While it will remain a fact that Rep. Ballance and I do not agree on every issue, I do recognize leadership when I see it.  Having this magnitude of leadership in Helena gives me great comfort and will allow me to sleep at night, knowing that the Montana budget will be in good hands.  It is for all these reasons I am supporting Nancy Balance for Senate District 44 in Ravalli County.  So should you!!!
