By Jim Kalkofen, Stevensville
I want to give a shout out for a recent good news activity that deserves a hearty THANK YOU.
The walking-path benches from town to the river were repaired, scraped and painted. This undertaking was an Eagle Scout project. The young man responsible was Cam Johnson, a freshman at Stevensville High School.
Cam deserves a big THANK YOU from all of us bench-sitters who hike this path regularly. He said with the assistance of a few friends and family, the 18-hour effort was successfully completed.
Scout master William Andrews said this project, plus all merit badges and leadership actions completed, the Eagle Scout board of review is the final step to accomplishing a major goal for this young man.
THANK YOU, Cam.
