The Hamilton Broncs came back from a loss a week ago to Butte Central to defeat Frenchtown in Southwest A conference action on Thursday, and Whitefish on Saturday.

After trailing in the first quarter, Carson Rostad stepped up and sank six points to power Hamilton ahead in the second quarter while the entire team ramped up their rebounding.

“I was really proud of our composure, the boys played really hard all game. I thought we stuck together and did a lot of things right tonight. We’re inexperienced as we’re going into the year and we’re just learning as we go,” said Hamilton coach Travis Blome.

Hamilton’s big man in the paint, Tyler Burrows, made a difference rebounding and kept the ball alive for the Broncs. He finished with a game high 14 points. On the perimeter, the Broncs had several different players step up and run the plays. Freshman Eli Taylor did a good job of handling the pressure at the point but did get into foul trouble late in the game. Hamilton held off a surge in the third quarter by Frenchtown but a a press breaker offense by Hamilton changed the momentum and the lead was in Hamilton’s pocket the rest of the game.
