Due to increased expenses, general memberships have increased in price yearly at local athletic clubs. Some insurance plans, such as Humana and Blue Cross, cover this expense of membership. The gracious management at The Canyons continues to accept the Humana Plan, although it pays less toward membership costs.
The Canyons management explained that they honor all senior plans for the sacrifices that retirees have made over the years; they don’t discriminate.
Unfortunately, some other clubs won’t accept Humana subscribers any longer, as Blue Cross pays out more than Humana. These other clubs are treating the elderly unfairly, and in my opinion, are a disgrace to the retirees of the Bitterroot Valley.
