Hamilton’s Brynnli Poulsen clinched her first state cross country championship on Saturday in the snow in Great Falls. She ran a blistering 18:16.22 to win, and was followed by Dillon’s Madalen Shipman who ran the course in 19:41.84. Olivia Buoy of Corvallis finished in seventh place with a time of 20:04.21. Corvallis’s Rose Day was 15th with 20:24.33. Anna Jessop of Corvallis, Sarah Passey of Hamilton and Katie Gleason of Corvallis were 19th, 20th, and 21st, respectively.
Darby’s Gracie Lang finished 10th in the Class B with a time of 21:36.11. Averi Parker of West Yellowstone won with a time of 20:11.16.
The Hamilton boys finished in fourth place with a score of 125 and Corvallis was right behind with 163. Columbia Falls won the state team trophy with a score of 65.
Colter Kirkland of Hamilton finished in second place behind Sam Fulbright of Lewistown who ran a 16:10/43. Kirkland’s time was 16:17.42. Will Flowers of Corvallis was 12th with a time of 16:58.75. Brinson Wyche of Corvallis had a time of 17:02.45 for 16th place.
