The Hamilton Broncs secured a first-round playoff bye with a win on Friday night. Hamilton defeated Polson, 57-18. Landon Duce scored the first three Bronc touchdowns. Here opened the scoring with a 16 yard run and Tyson Rostad kicked the PAT. Duce’s second TD was from four yards out, and he then scored the two point conversion. The final Duce score was a two yard run with a Rostad kick.
After Polson scored a 99 yard touchdown, Hamilton’s Carson Rostad went to work. His first scoring pass was a 46 yard to Jaiden Klemundt with Tyson Rostad kicking the PAT. Carson hit Klemundt again from 29 yards out a little later with a Tyson Rostad PAT. Carson went in a different direction and hit Mason Murray from 10 yards out. Tyson Rostad kicked the PAT. Carson Rostad found Klemundt one last time, this time from five yards out for another six. The final Hamilton touchdown was a six yard run by Cole Anson. Tyler Rostad kicked both PATs.
Along with Hamilton, who is the No. 2 seed in the West, Dillon, Miles City, and Laurel will also have first round byes. Dillon is the No. 1 seed in the West, Miles City is the No. 1 seed in the East, and Laurel is the No. 2 seed in the East. Hamilton will play the winner of the Billings Central/Glendive game. Those two teams are No. 3 and No. 6 seeds in the East. Hamilton’s game will be at home on November 9.
The Stevensville Yellowjackets outlasted Browning, 46-40, on Friday night. Sahkaia Wehr completed 16 of 33 passes and threw for three touchdowns. His targets from the air were Austin Smith, Kellan Beller, and Ben Tack. Wehr had two rushing touchdowns. Aidan Van Ostrand had one touchdown on the ground as did Tanner Pendergast.
The Florence Falcons finished their season with a non conference win over the Three Forks Wolves on a windy Friday night in Florence. Florence won 40-8. The Falcons’ only losses were to Eureka and to Manhattan Christian. Florence will take on Shepherd in the first round of the playoffs on Saturday in Florence. That game will begin at 1pm.
Darby lost to St. Ignatius, 50-26, in their final game of the season. Victor ran into trouble at Drummond and lost to Flint Creek, 70-6.
