Hamilton boys golf team looking tough

The Hamilton boys golf team is playing some of their best golf which is a good thing heading into the Western A Divisional this weekend in Frenchtown. The team, which began play even before school started, played in Kalispell and then at home at the Hamilton Golf Club course. 

Hamilton was second in Kalispell behind Glacier, by only four strokes. Tristan Hanson and teammate Bryce Reed tied for fourth in Kalispell. He shot a 73 the first dat at Northern Pines Golf Course. The next day, at Buffalo Hill, he shot an 80 for a combined score of 153. Reed shot a 75 the first day and a 78 the second. Tanner Hanson was right behind his teammates (and brother) in fifth place. He shot a 76 and a 78 for a combined 154.

On Saturday at the Hamilton Golf Course, Hamilton topped 10 other teams to finish first with a score of 302. Frenchtown was second with 330. They were followed by Whitefish (336), Butte Central (335), Columbia Falls (368), Corvallis (380), Dillon (387), Libby (396), East Helena (432) and Browning (445). 

Tristan Hanson finished first by shooting a 69 on his home course. Reed and Tanner Hanson tied for second with 75. Max Cianflone was tied for 10th with 83. Marcus Kilman of Columbia Falls and Cameron Kahle of Whitefish tied with him. 

Corvallis’ Luke Schlimgan finished sixth with an 80. Jacob Watters of Stevensville was seventh with 81. 

Macee Greenwood of Corvallis led her team to victory for the girls. Greenwood shot a 71 to lead the Blue Devils to a two-stroke victory over Whitefish. Keelee Storrud and Signee Storrud tied for 10th with 96 for the Blue Devils as well. 

Aly Rose of Hamilton tied with Stevensville’s Jasi Oyler for fourth place. They both shot an 89.
