By Sharon Dedmon, Board President, Bitter Root Water Forum
We are swept off of our feet and completely blown away by the support of this community for the Bitter Root Water Forum during Bitterroot Gives. It was heartening to have the community come together for us, as a nonprofit focused on bringing our community together to protect, enhance, and restore the waters that we all rely on.
You gave over $12,000 for the Water Forum during the 27-hour Bitterroot Gives event and we are so grateful. Your investment in our work improves water quality through restoration projects on both private and public lands, rebuilding healthy habitat and needed buffers along streams. Your contributions strengthen our education programs serving over 500 local students, where we get kids out of the classroom and into the water to learn through hands on lessons. Your gifts help clean up our River through both our Clean Up All Year program, offering reusable clean up bags at locations around the valley, and the annual Bitterroot River Clean Up in August.
Thank you for your commitment to this organization and thank you for your generosity for the River and the Waters we all rely on to farm, recreate, drink and to work upon. We are committed to the users of this fine resource. AND a special thank you to the Westslope Distillery for providing their match which helped motivate others to give.
