The Dave Tripp track meet was held Friday in Polson and featured many of the smaller schools in Western Montana. The Darby girls took seventh in the track meet which Charlo won.
Darby’s Amber Anderson finished third in the 100 hurdles with a time of 17.41. Carley Fryberger of Charlo won with 16.90. Casey Ehmann, the defending state champion, finished just behind Kamryn Scully of Deer Lodge in the 300 hurdles with a time of 48.59. Scully’s time was 48.53. Ehmann won the 200 with a time of 27.80 Gracie Lang finished fifth in the 1,600 with a time of 6:24.82. Madison Kelly of St. Regis won with 5:47.31.
Cassidy Alber of Victor finished third in the 100 with a time of 13.87. Fryberger of Charlo won with 13.49. Alber finished sixth in the long jump with a leap of 15-01. Kaitlin Cox of Charlo won with 16-05.
Darby’s Dylan Parks won the 110 hurdles with a time of 15.97 and the 300 hurdles with a time of 42.89, 2 seconds faster than second place. Parks finished third in the 200 behind Logan Robinson (23.24) and Dakota Wood (24.08) of Seeley-Swan. Parks’ time was 24.11.
While the smaller schools competed in Polson, the Class AA and A schools were at the Missoula Invitational at Big Sky. The Flathead girls won the 13-school meet with 119 points. Corvallis came in fourth with 64.50 points, Hamilton was 10th with 24 points and Stevensville 11th with 16 points.
Calla Haldorson of Corvallis won the discus with a throw of 130-05. She was also fifth in the shot put with 33-01. Corvallis’ Charlotte Powell was third in the discus with 106-11 followed by Kaylee Jordan in fifth with 103-05 and her teammate Denali Smith with 101-07. Jenna Jordan took fourth in the javelin with 108-06. Piper Pfister of Hellgate won with 122-10. In the pole vault, Isabella Reed ofBig Sky won with 10-09. Corvallis’ Kailen Herbstritt, was second with 9-06. Lilli Day of Corvallis was sixth in the 3,200 with a time of 12:12.47, Abby Kendrick of Hellgate had the winning time with 11:56.60. Corvallis took sixth in the 400 relay. Flathead won with 51.09. Corvallis had 52.84 In the 1600 relay, Big Sky won with 4:12.84. Corvallis was second with 4:16.95
Katelyn Dickemore of Hamilton was second in the shot put with 35-0, Mya Mcneely of Glacier won by two inches. Dickemore was second in the discus with 120-06.5. Brynnli Poulson finished second in the 1600 meter race with 5:25.37. Ember Stratton of Hellgate won with 5:11.28
Ashton Lewis of Stevensville won the long jump with a leap of 17-02, three inches shy of her best effort this season. She finished fourth in the 400 with a time of 1:01.99. Faith Rebich of Frenchtown won with 1:00.74.
The Hamilton and Corvallis boys finished down in the pack at the Missoula Invitational. Sentinel won the event. Hamilton’s Jacob Campbell won the shot put with a throw of 52-05, the second farthest in the state to date. Campbell was second in the discus with a throw of 147-09. Brandon Spencer of Sentinel won with 157-01. In the javelin, Michael Graves finished second behind Rylan Ortt of Sentinel who threw the javelin 198-06, fifth farthest in the nation. Graves’ throw was 188-04 which is the second longest throw in the state this year behind Ortt.
Corvallis’ Garrett Brown threw the shot put 51-07 which was good enough for second place. Brown finished fifth in the discus with a throw of 138-04. Corvallis’ Cole Henry finished sixth in the 800 with a time of 2:07.58. Kyle Calles of Flathead won with 2:04.41. The Blue Devil 1,600 relay team finished in third thing Frenchtown and Flathead. Corvallis’ time was 3:37.41. Frenchtown’s time was 3:34.59.
