In anticipation of Valentine’s Day last month, seven organizations in our community decorated 160 large valentine envelopes to be placed on each of our residents’ apartment doors. In response to our request for valentine cards to be donated for our residents, Sapphire Lutheran Homes was gifted with hundreds and hundreds of valentines from our community’s churches, schools and other organizations. These were dispersed among our residents and everyone enjoyed them and was very appreciative. Following are four notes from our residents thanking you, our community, for your generosity and thoughtfulness!
On behalf of the residents of Sapphire Lutheran Homes, we would like to thank the community for sharing love with us this past Valentine’s Day. You all made us feel very special! — Nell Knight
As a resident of The Manor, I would like to thank all the people who sent valentines to us. It meant so much to so many, and was greatly appreciated. May the good Lord bless you for all your thoughtfulness! — Candace Palmer
There are many special days that school kids enjoy celebrating. This recent event, Valentine’s Day, was a great joy for our residents. After teaching for 37 years, I know how valuable it is to have support in the classroom. — Helen Gurtner
Dear Community Folks in the Valley: We who reside at Sapphire Lutheran Homes had so much fun on Valentine’s Day opening our card pouches containing cards from so many of you! We were pleased to have been remembered by our generous neighbors and friends. Thank you! — Ruth Hazelton
