The Hamilton Broncs took a 19-2 win over Dillon Saturday with senior pitcher Jorden Taggart narrowing missing a shut out. The only runs scored by Dillon came in the fifth inning on two fielding errors by Hamilton. The game ended in the fifth inning on the 10-run rule. Hamilton improved to 2-0.
Coach Dave Kearns was pleased with his team’s effort but disappointed they finished with two errors. “We’ve got a young crew. We’re just trying to get them to realize the situation and stay in the game. We’re just trying to go out and score runs when we have the opportunity.”
Taggart had a home run. Lead-off hitter Sophia Doyle had a double and a triple and an RBI. Abby Johnson had three singles and three RBIs. Maggie Ringer had two hits and two RBIs. Mikayln Brickley had a triple and single. Haley Frey, Olivia Zepeda, and Kyla Shepherd all hit singles and RBIs.
Stevensville also had a five-inning win. They topped Ronan, 12-2. Sarah Morrison was the winning pitcher. The Yellowjackets opened up in the second inning with four runs and the rout was on. Syd Paul, Ashlinn Hiller, and Kaylee Berning each had two hits. Taylor Springer and Jessie Newman had three hits and Maddie Sims, Dani Trangmoe and Cassi Kopsa each had a single.
