Charles Darrel Hayne (aka Chuck, Darrel, Emo) passed away March 31, 2019 in Moses Lake, WA. He was born July 5, 1940 to Charles (Shorty) and Helen House Hayne.
He married Sharon Haubold in 1961 in Denver, CO. He served in the Navy from 1957-1967. In 1967, he began a 32-year career in Seattle, WA with Northwest Bell (US West). The family lived in the Seattle, Lakewood and Marysville areas. Later his work took him to Rock Springs, WY and Billings, MT. After retirement he and Sharon traveled around the U.S. in their RV, enjoying the RV lifestyle. Then from 2003-2010, they worked at Crazy Horse Memorial in Custer, SD.
Chuck is survived by his wife of 58 years, Sharon in Moses Lake, WA; daughters Erica Holland and Stefanie Curry of Orofino, ID; sons Tyler of Pasco, WA and Gregory of Marysville, WA; five grandchildren and two great grandchildren; sisters Mary Kerr and Cindy Repp of Victor, MT and Maxine Jenft of Arlington, WA; brother-in-law Gary Haubold of Port Angeles, WA and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Gary and sisters Iris and Judy.
A memorial service will be held at the Victor, MT Cemetery during the Memorial Day weekend. Sharon requested donations in his honor to the American Cancer Society or donor’s choice.
