The Florence Falcons met up against Loyola in their first game of the Western B tournament. The Falcons changed up their rotation about three weeks ago and are still in a learning curve but they gave Loyola a run. The Rams won, 73-48. Florence was led by Parker Hotsinpiller’s 12 points and Brendan Bailey’s 11 points. That loss put Florence into loser out action against Thompson Falls. The Falcons took an early lead and never looked back in the 61-41 win. Bailey had 18 points and JP Briney added 13. Florence then played Mission where they lost,67-39. Briney paced the Falcons with 17 points.
Darby opened against Gardner at the Western C Divisional at Butte Central. Gardner pulled ahead and took the 56-44 win. Dylan Parks led all scorers with 19 points. Darby then took on Drummond and won, 53-28. Nelson Smith had 18 points and Brandon Winters added 16 more. Darby’s last game was against Twin Bridges and they gave the Falcons a run for their money. The Tigers lost out, 54-49. Smith and Parks each had 18 points to close out their season.
The Darby girls met up with Manhattan Christian in their first game of the tournament. Although Darby took an early lead, a strong final half by Manhattan Christian gave them the 67-39 win. Casey Ehmann had 16 points and TeaAnna Rouse added 10 for Darby. Darby then took on Ennis in loser out action. Darby lost, 66-30. Ehmann finished with 16 points.
