Girls basketball update

The Lady Broncs lost a nail-biter to Dillon, 37-33, in overtime on Saturday. Hamilton got off to a slow start but then held Dillon scoreless in the second quarter and took a six point lead into the locker room. Dillon bounced back with 16 points in the third quarter. Hamilton battled back in the fourth quarter to tie at 29 all at the buzzer. Dillon pulled ahead and took the win. Lauren Ryter had 12 points for the Lady Broncs.

Dillon: Tylia DeJohn 6, Jordyn McKay 8, Anne Larson 2, Kylee Pittman 6, Madalen Shipman 1, Josey Jones 14.

Hamilton: Abby Johnson 6, Lauren Ryter 12, Sophia Doyle 3, Jordan Taggart 2, Mariola Tesoro 1, Maggie Ringer 3, Katelyn Dickamore 6.

Corvallis also lost a close game to Butte Central, 39-36, on Saturday. Corvallis had a six point lead going into the fourth quarter but Butte Central’s Tricia Joyce got hot and sank a couple of treys to win the game. Hannah Martin had eight points for Corvallis.

Butte Central: Bella Sorini 2, Shea Davis 2, Taylor Harrington 2, Tricia Joyce 16, Sofee Thatcher 11, Emma Keeley 6.

Corvallis: Calla Haldorson 6, Hannah Martin 8, Ashlynn Nixon 3, Hadli Lords 3, Denali Smith 2, Lainie Albright 7, Lilly Berry 2, Madeline Gilder 4, S. Powell 1.

Florence took a non conference win over Corvallis on Thursday. The Lady Falcons had four players in double figures for the 66-53 win. Makenna Liles had 17 points for Florence but it was Corvallis’ freshman, Madeline Gilder who led all scorers with 19 points.

Corvallis: Calla Haldorson 11, Hannah Martin 4, Madeline Gilder 19, Lainie Albright 6, Lilly Berry 7, Ashlynn Nixon 6.

Florence: Emma Stensrud 5, Joey Janetski 13, Rilee Mangun 15, Danielle Zahn 14, Kasidy Yeoman 2, Makenna Liles 17.

Florence topped Bigfork, 50-35, on Saturday. The Lady Falcons’ tough defense held the Vals to only 11 points in the first half. Rilee Mangun had 14 points to lead all scorers.

Florence: Brooklyn Newbary 4, Emma Stensrud 8, Joey Janetski 7, Rilee Mangun 14, Makenna Liles 7, Danielle Zahn 10.

Bigfork:  Merideth Bedford 3, Emma Berreth 8, Heidi Schneller 8, Jordan Nelson 1, Ansleigh Edgerton 5, Quinn Nissen 4, Izzy Santistevan 4, Ashton McAnally 1.

Stevensville defeated Polson, 52-39, in non conference Class A action. The Lady Yellowjackets took an early lead and never looked back. Angel Richards had 20 points to lead all scorers.

Polson: Lisa Costilla 1, Karly Lawson 9, Sharmaine Zempel 8, Alex Pierre 2, Mossy Kauley 11, Berkley Ellis 6, Mahala Buffalo 2.

Stevensville: Angel Richards 20, Maliyah LeCoure 4, Maddie Sims 8, Maddie Weber 6, Syd Paul 2, Kennedy Praast 12.
