Corvallis girls gaining strength

The Corvallis Blue Devils took over first place in the Southwest A conference with their 41-35 win over Frenchtown. With a 6-2 conference record, the Blue Devils have become the team to beat in the league. 

The Blue Devils trailed by six points at the end of the first half but then put up 15 points in the third to swing the momentum in their direction. Calla Haldorson led the Devils with 13 points.

Corvallis – Calla Haldorson 13, Hannah Martin 8, Lainie Albright 8, Madeline Gilder 4, Lilly Berry 4, Denali Smith 2, Ashlynn Nixon 2. The Lady Pirates of Victor are starting to come together as a team and gaining momentum. They lost to Hot Springs, 63-35, in non conference action on Thursday night . Ashley Chavez finished with 18 points in the loss to Hot Springs.

Hot Springs: Katelyn Christensen 18, Sydney Jackson 8, Sage Jackson 5, Elena McAllister 2, Lizzy Fisher 6, McKennzie Cannon 15, Brianna Gray 9.

Victor: Madison Allred 5, Keanna Chavez 4, Maddie Bahr 2, Ashley Chavez 18, Bella Scichilone 6.

On Friday night, the Lady Pirates bounced back to take a 38-35 win over Lincoln. Victor held the Lynx to only two points in the second quarter and then held them off from making a comeback in the second half. Chavez had 17 points for the Lady Pirates.

Lincoln: Sage Kamps 2, Maggie Jorgensen 4, Alexis Cannon 16, Tanea Reisch 6, Carly Templeton 7.

Darby doubled up on Valley Christian and defeated them, 50-25. Casey Ehmann had 25 points to lead the Lady Tigers.

Darby rolled over Two Eagle River school, 68-14. Ehmann had 14 points to pace Darby. Clarke had 12 points and Lang added11.

Hamilton defeated Butte Central, 52-43. Hamilton had a strong third quarter and then held the lead as Butte Central made a run at the lead. Abby Johnson, Lauren Ryter and Katelyn Dickamore each had 13 points in the game.
