The Corvallis Blue Devils had their hands full agains the Class B Anaconda Lady Copperheads in a very physical game. By the end of the first quarter, both teams had four fouls each. Turnovers plagued the Blue Devils in the first half but they erased the deficit and took a four point lead into the half.
After the break, Hannah Martin sank two free throws following a foul by Anaconda’s Claire Miller to give Corvallis a little breathing room. One point separated the two at the end of three quarters.
Lainie Albright hit a trey for the Blue Devils but Isabel Saltenberger came right back with one of her own. Hannah Martin hit a couple of baskets but Anaconda was matching each basket and adding to their lead. Logan Stetzner of Anaconda hit a short jumper to put their score at 43. There was 2:43 left in the game and the Lady Copperheads had a five point lead.
Corvallis doubled down and put freshman Madeline Gilder in. The 5’10” freshman changed the dynamics on the floor. Albright hit a trey to bring the score to 41-43. Then Gilder intercepted a pass and raced the length of the court for two points. The next trip down the court, it was Gilder again who got the steal but missed her shot. However she pulled the rebound down and sent the ball to Martin who knocked down the basket. Corvallis won, 45-43.

The Corvallis boys also won. They beat Anaconda, 50-30.Caleb Warnken led the Blue Devils with 14 points.

The Hamilton boys defeated Frenchtown, 61- 52. Although Frenchtown jumped out to an early lead the boys in red and grey came back to take the lead at the half. Hamilton held Frenchtown to only nine points in the second quarter and seven in the third quarter. Both teams got hot in the final frame but Hamilton held the lead for the win. Trey Searle had 18 points and Tanner Goligoski added 17 in the win.

The Frenchtown Lady Broncs edged Hamilton, 34-30. After a strong first half where Hamilton took a nine point lead into the break, Frenchtown came back for the win, holding Hamilton to only seven points in the half. Lauren Ryter had 13 points to pace Hamilton.

The Hamilton Broncs rolled over Whitefish, 83-46. Hamilton poured in 28 points in the first quarter and then continued to roll on for the win. Searle had 19 points and Goligoski upped him by 10 for 29 points.

The Lady Broncs also defeated Whitefish, 30-22. Hamilton held the Lady Bulldogs to single digits in each quarter. They were led by Ryter’s eight points.

Drummond defeated Darby, 60-45, in non conference action. Darby was unable to catch up after Drummond broke out 21 points in the first quarter. Dylan Parks had 13 points to lead the Tigers.

The Clark Fork Mountain Cats edged Victor, 53-49, on Thursday in Alberton but they had to come from behind to do it. Mason Agee had 18 points and Skyler Webberson dropped in 21 points.

On Friday, the Valley Christian Eagles came to Victor. The Pirates jumped out to an early lead and never looked back in the 49-34 conference win. Agee had 16 points for Victor.

The Lady Pirates lost a close game to the Lady Eagles of Valley Christian, 51-45. Eighth grader Keanna Chavez scored 22 points for Victor and her sister, Ashley added 12. (In Class C, eighth graders may play on high school teams if there are not enough students out to make a team.)
