In your 12/5 edition there was published a letter which claimed “that CO2-caused climate change is nothing but a huge lie created by globalist schemers to control the entire world…”
Fantastic information from a climate change denying conspiracy theorist who asked where does this claim of carbon in the air being produced by combustion come from?
So… a google search for, carbon produced by combustion, yielded this short answer.
Gasoline contains carbon and hydrogen atoms. During combustion the carbon from the fuel combines with oxygen from the air to produce carbon dioxide.
Another interesting item was this – About 19.6 lbs of CO2 are produced from burning a gallon of gasoline that does not contain ethanol. The additional weight comes from the oxygen. Wow! That sounds like a lot. The statistics for coal were even more extreme, and complex, with weights and heats and types of coal etc.
Then I googled – Heat absorbed by CO2, and found out that Carbon Dioxide both absorbs and readmits infrared radiation making it the ideal greenhouse gas. There is an excellent short video featuring a camera, tube, and a candle, showing CO2 absorbing heat.
