The Joy of Christmas is alive and well in Stevensville!
Smiles, laughing, bright eyes and comments like “Oh, Mommy will just love that!” were all common on Saturday at the Stevensville Clothes Closet! The children were present with ideas, hope and joy to do their shopping for the very special Christmas gifts.
Because of the effort of many people this event was again this year a wonderful success! Donations of time, gift items and cash made this the tremendous event that it was. There were “elves” to assist the kids with what they were choosing and offering some ideas. Just in case help was needed! Thank you everyone for what you did to make this such a great day!
As the adults waited for the children to do their shopping there were treats of hot chocolate, coffee and cookies just outside the door. Again, volunteers to stand out there and help serve and of course there were many homemade treats!
After the gifts were chosen with great care, the kids could then have them wrapped so the gifts would be ready to put under the tree for opening on Christmas!
The true meaning of Christmas was certainly present during this event. There’s nothing like the smile on the face of a little girl as she holds up the “perfect” gift for her Mommy and then finds one for Dad too! This is what it is all about!
Here are just a few of the comments:
You folks are great. That’s why I drive to Stevensville to make donations. Thank you very much!
Thank you for doing this! When my 4 year old walked out with a couple gifts in hand for her loved ones, she was just beaming.
Thanks to the community and to all the volunteers who make this happen!
